Online MBA Diversity Scholarships will be awarded to candidates who bring strong academic and work experience while enhancing the diversity of cultures or perspectives to the Edinburgh MBA.

Notification:

Edinburgh University MBA Diversity Scholarship Eligibility Criteria:

Online MBA Diversity Scholarships will be awarded to candidates who:

  • Have good academic and excellent work experience.
  • Have the potential to contribute and enrich all aspects of an online MBA
  • Can demonstrate how they provide a supportive, inclusive environment and/or have built a culture of belonging by actively inviting input and participation from all people, for example in projects, group work, events etc.
  • Can you tell us how they will use the knowledge gained through the online MBA program and how it will enable them to continue to make an impact as a leader, especially in terms of inclusivity and accountability?

Eligibility:

You can only apply for a scholarship after you have received an offer (conditional or unconditional) to join one of the eligible programs and either you have firmly accepted the offer or you intend to do so. The scholarship selection panel can only consider your application if you have an active offer throughout the scholarship application process (this means if your offer is rejected at any time up until the scholarship decision deadline, you will no longer be eligible).

You will not be eligible for this scholarship if:

  • You are fully sponsored by your employer
  • You get a full scholarship

If an applicant is successful in being awarded a scholarship but subsequently declines an offer of admission to the Online MBA, the scholarship will be withdrawn and allocated to another applicant. The award will be withdrawn if the student does not meet the conditions set by the university.

Conditions:

  • The scholarship will be deducted from the tuition fee.
  • Successful online MBA Diversity Scholarship applicants enrolled in the program will have a scholarship amount allocated for the first year of fees.
  • Scholarships will need to be accepted within a certain time frame in order to secure your position in the Online MBA program as well as secure scholarship funding.
  • If you do not accept and pay the required online MBA program deposit within the given time frame, you will forfeit the scholarship offer. The business school will then redistribute this scholarship.
  • If you are the recipient of any other University of Edinburgh scholarship, then the maximum that will be covered between all scholarships awarded will be full fees.
  • Scholarships are not transferable or deferral. They are only valid for use by the scholarship holder on the start date stated in the application in that academic year (e.g. January 2023).
  • If you are awarded a scholarship, you will be expected to participate as an ambassador for the Business School on an occasional basis during and after your program.
  • Scholarship decisions are at the discretion of the school and all decisions are final.
  • If you withdraw at any time during the teaching period, scholarship payments already made will be refunded on a pro rata basis. In exceptional circumstances, this decision may be reviewed by the Director of Professional Services.

Selection process:

All applications will be reviewed by a scholarship panel made up of a number of supporting students.

When reviewing your application, the panel will look at the information you have provided as part of the scholarship application process, focusing on the contribution you can make to enrich the program. If further prioritization is required, it will be based on academic achievement.

When assessing your application we will take into account:

  • How will you use the knowledge gained through an online MBA program to continue to act as a leader, especially in terms of inclusivity and accountability?

Evidence of work experience and academic achievements provided.
