Melbourne University Scholarships-Jack Keating Fund Policy Paper Benefits:

  • The recipient would receive up to $20,000 to produce a 15-20 page strategy paper (computer based research, no ethics required) for a period of six months, with an option to extend by three months if needed.
  • 70% paid to the beneficiary up front and the rest paid after the contribution is completed.

Jack Keating Fund Policy Paper Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be an employee or student at the University of Melbourne, OR
  • Be a person or organization outside the University.

Selection criteria


  • The post must be completed no later than December 15, 2023.
  • The University reserves the right to review submissions prior to publication.
  • The university will place the published contribution on the university website, but the recipient of the funds will retain the intellectual property.
  • Awardees are encouraged to publish the article elsewhere but are expected to notify the University of such publications.
  • The recipient must clearly confirm that the paper was funded by the Jack Keating Fund.
  • The University would have the right to revoke the link to the document if necessary.

  • Applications are open from Thursday 1 September, closing date is midnight on Monday 31 October 2022.

  • Applications will be reviewed by the Jack Keating Scholarship Committee.
