Performance and Elite Sport Scholarships 2022-2023 are partially funded by international students. These scholarships are available to undergraduate, master’s courses at Cardiff Metropolitan University. These bursaries will offer up to £ 5,000 in tuition fees and access to excellent facilities.

The Elite Sport Scholar Award is designed for undergraduate students, postgraduate graduates and international students who excel in sports (including working and / or training). The prize is based on a combination of academic merit and achievement in sport and can be applied to students who meet certain criteria.

Elite Sport Scholar Award Qualifications:
To qualify for the Elite Sport Scholar Award, the following criteria must be considered:
- Required language: English
- Eligible Countries: All countries of the world
To qualify for a scholarship, athletes must:
- you are studying, or you are about to start studying at Cardiff Metropolitan University (any course).
- compete in the British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) (BUCS) game and contribute to the BUC University’s goals.
- compete internationally, or have to perform at the highest level in their sport (eg national / international / professional).
- recommended by their NGB coach and / or University coach for their sport.
- Students are expected to compete with Cardiff Met in the BUCS tournament as a bursary requirement.
- Students are expected to represent Cardiff Met at open events and participate in the promotion and marketing of the School of Sports and Health Sciences. Failure to do so may result in the loss of the bursary.
- You must register as a full-time student at Cardiff Metropolitan University and have your Student ID card to process a meal allowance or a standard campus grant.
- Prize pay in 2 and 3 years is less than a successful progression in the next academic year.
- Prize payment in year 2 and 3 depends on the progression of your level of athletic progress, which will be determined by the Performance Sports Panel.
- There will usually be no fourth year of award, however, applicants will be considered for a 4-year program (including Foundation), as well as part-time and / or graduate programs.
- The prize will not be awarded to anyone who has to stay for the rest of the year, unless you have the full circumstances to reduce all debt restructuring debt. More information on mitigation measures can be found in the Academic Handbook.
- You will need to re-apply annually (a form to complete will be provided by the Head of Sport Operations).
- This award is not available to those studying in franchise colleges. Please contact the college to discuss bursaries and scholarship availability.
- You may not receive both the Elite Sport Scholar and the Postgraduate Scholarship prize at the same time.
- The prize package will be designed to support students in gaining their potential within the chosen games.
- The bursary will be awarded by a team, which will include the Head of Sport Operations, Student Sports Manager, and a staff member education staff.

(2) Submit it to the Head of Performance Sports with proof of performance standards and contact details of the coach to allow for the recommendation.
Note: You will receive an automatic notification via email. If you do not receive this notice, please contact scholarship@cardiffmet.ac.uk as soon as possible so that we can confirm the receipt. You will then receive proof of eligibility, subject to meeting the Terms and Conditions.
Final certification of the award will be confirmed once the exam is done and before you start your studies.
